What is Pain
Pain is a simple word without a simple meaning. Everybody experiences it from time to time, some people endure it constantly. Pain can be physical, emotional or mental. Some pain can be extreme and other pain might be subtle . The sources of pain can vary greatly as well, we can hurt from injury, trauma, stress, illness, disease, depression or even heartbreak. Every form of pain must be treated differently and there is no one size fits all solution for it. The simple aches we all experience can be solved in 20 minutes with an over the counter pain reliever, while some other pains will linger as long as the mind lets it. This is all part of what makes pain so interesting.
The goal of this site is to delve into the many facets of pain that affect us all. Physical pain is often the easiest form of pain to treat, as we are well versed in the use of pain relievers from Advil to morphine, but even these drugs have their limits. Mental and Emotional pain can be a little more tricky. While these to can sometimes be treated by a pill, other times the hurt can be removed by the simple action of talking with a loved one over dinner, or just having a drink at the local pub with a buddy. Its amazing that a simple four letter word can mean so much.
